Soil Powered Battery

Scientists at Harvard University developed a microbial fuel cell technology that harnesses electricity from bacteria found naturally in soil.  We helped Harvard turn this technology into a product which they were then able to implement in rural Africa to power LED lights and even charge cell phones.

The research and development was funded through a Gates Challenge Grant, and we align strongly with the missions of both Harvard and the Gates Foundation-- to bring access to technology to the developing world that can greatly impact health and lifestyle.
